Chrisbeon couple get dirty!
Facing a biting wind, Telford business couple Brian and Jean Hughes walked across a large open field digging holes and planting trees in support of the National Forest.
The couple, of Chrisbeon Office Supplies, Telford, each planted 25 broad leafed trees in Poppy Wood as part of a major environmental project.
They spent two and a half hours in the National Forest planting saplings of oak, ash and cherry which will mature over the next 25 years.
Chrisbeon Office Supplies, of Stafford Park, Telford, were reinforcing their own environmental policy confirmed by their award of ISO 14001.
Said Brian, a partner in the business: “It was a very cold windy day, but conditions were good for digging holes and planting trees.
“We felt that by planting these trees we were making a little bit of history that will benefit future generations including our grandchildren.” The tree planting was an initiative by a national buying group called Advantia of which Chrisbeon Office Supplies is a long-standing member.
Brian founded the firm in the 1970’s and Jean, although now semi-retired, stills retains an active interest in the family run business.
