OSTEOPATH AND CHAIR SPECIALIST BACK ‘BACKCARE AWARENESS WEEK’

OSTEOPATH AND CHAIR SPECIALIST BACK ‘BACKCARE AWARENESS WEEK’

A Shropshire osteopath and a leading chair specialist are partnering each other to highlight ‘BackCare Awareness Week’ that starts on Monday (October 6).

Osteopathy Plus, of Broseley, is offering free 30 minute ‘Back Chat’ appointments covering postural and lifestyle advice, exercise guidance and a physical assessment.

Telford-based Chrisbeon is giving extra discount and making a charitable donation on sales of two specific chair ranges that provide extra support and comfort for people who suffer from back pain.

Osteopathy Plus and Chrisbeon are ‘sitting comfortably together’ with their specific contributions to the national ‘BackCare Awareness Week’ and hope people bothered by back pain will take advantage of their offers.

Statistics produced by BackCare, the charity for healthier backs, reveal that back pain is the second most common cause of absence from work in the country.  Half of UK adults were bothered by back pain in the last four weeks.

Said Amy Vowles of Osteopathy Plus:  “Office workers and a more sedentary lifestyle has a significant impact on the incidence of back and neck pain.  BackCare is doing a great job of educating the general public based on meaningful statistics and sound corrective advice.

“And more information about our free 30 minute ‘Back Chats’ can be found on our website www.osteopathy.org or by telephoning 01952 327210.”

Said Richard Hughes, a partner of Chrisbeon:  “We also applaud the work that BackCare is doing and their statistics reaffirm that back pain affects around half of us at any given time.

“For many years we have sold back care chairs and two of our ranges, BMA Axia and Reflex, have been specifically designed for people who spend a lot of their time sitting.

“BMA has won a top ergonomics award and we shall give an extra discount on their chairs as well as the Reflex chairs we sell throughout the month of October.  We shall also make a donation to the BackCare charity.

“The charity, www.backcare.org.uk encourages people to visit their website for tips and exercises to help with bad backs.

“And our local showrooms in Telford and Shrewsbury have many chairs on display for customers to try before they buy.  We also offer a free chair trial service,” he added.
