Telford business couple Brian and Jean Hughes have been supporting the National Forest with a tree planting project for the second time in 12 months.
The couple, of Chrisbeon Office Supplies, Stafford Park, each planted 20 assorted species of trees in Poppy Wood, Derbyshire, as part of a major environmental project.
They spent more than two hours in the National Forest planting the saplings which will mature over the next 25 years.
A family owned business, Chrisbeon Office Supplies is reinforcing its own environmental policy confirmed by its award of ISO 14001.
The tree planting, which was in the same wood as the previous event, is an initiative by a national buying group called Advantia of which Chrisbeon Office Supplies is a long-standing member.
Said Brian:  “We feel that by planting these trees we are making a little bit of history that will benefit future generations including our grandchildren.
“We feel it is also important to support the National Forest which gives much pleasure to so many visitors, including people from Shropshire.
“I understand there is to be a third tree planting later this year which Jean and I also hope to support.”
Brian founded the firm in the 1970’s and Jean, although now semi-retired, stills retains an active interest in the family run business.
