Chrisbeon delivers on vision for refurb

We love telling you about some of the many installation projects we are involved in at Chrisbeon.

One of our latest projects was helping The Wrekin Housing Group to update its cafe and reception areas – something that had not been done for 25 years. It was great being involved with the housing group’s team and we needed to work hard in ensuring the project was brought in on-budget for them.

Valuable community asset

The Wrekin Housing Group was launched in 1999 and is now recognised as one of the largest social housing providers in the West Midlands – a major player in improving the lives of so many people in the communities it serves.

Not only does the group provide more than 13,000 homes across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Staffordshire for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership, it is also involved in extra care, retirement living  and care for adults with learning difficulties.

The update

The main focus of our work for the group involved the reception area, where we provided:

  • A new bespoke reception desk with built-in DDA access.
  • Sofas with power/charging points built in.
  • Seating.
  • Tables.
  • Banquette unit.
  • Green-ribbed acoustic panels.

Sounds good!

We were particularly pleased with the acoustic panels we supplied, and Tom and Ben fitted to a dated mosaic wall. The final effect looks really good and works well within that environment.

Our involvement in the update of the cafe area centred on the supply of loose tables and chairs including some for the outdoor space.

We carried out lots of 3D designs with different furniture and colour schemes for the reception area – working closely with the group’s team on all details from innovation to approval. We were happy to help with the refurbishment and were really pleased with the end result.

Caroline Cowper, of The Wrekin Housing Group, said: “We are super proud of the refurb project, upgrading the cafe and reception area. There was lots of collaboration with Lois Harding, from the group’s marketing consultancy, in the planning stages, working to a tight budget to achieve a more versatile welcoming reception area that can be used for informal meetings and a fresher modern cafe area.

“The building deserved and needed this refurbishment for its 25th birthday and we must give massive thanks to Chrisbeon for all their advice and patience and bringing our vision to life.”
