Chrisbeon has a long-term commitment to supporting the community and over the years we have donated funds, time and equipment and sponsored many worthy causes, groups and individuals across Shropshire.
So we would like to tell you about the Acorn Fund, an amazing initiative of the Shropshire Community Foundation through its hugely successful Shropshire Investors in Community programme (SIIC), of which we are proud to have been a member since 2024.
Open to all
The programme is open to any business or organisation that wants to make a real difference to those in our community who are in the most need, and the Shropshire Community Foundation has, thanks to donations from SIIC members, been able to award grants totalling £18,000 through the Acorn Fund.
Grants ranging from £500 to £1,500 have been made to 19 grassroots organisations.
The organisations receiving support reflect the breadth of work taking place across Shropshire to help people feel healthier, more connected and better supported.
From community venues and inclusive activities to services for people experiencing isolation, disability or ill health, each grant helps a local organisation turn its ideas into practical support. The awards made through the 2025-26 Acorn Fund include:

The funding is used in a variety of ways from improving mental health, wellbeing and physical health to building confidence and independence in young people.
About the foundation
Shropshire Community Foundation is an independent registered charity, which receives no central or local government funding, and there are more than 80 businesses or other organisations signed up as SIIC members.
The latest round of Acorn Fund grants has supported more than 6,600 people in areas including community cafés, befriending, youth clubs, exercise sessions, autism support, creative workshops, fishing, technology clubs and cancer support. All made possible through the SIIC programme – and Chrisbeon is proud to be part of it!
